James and Susie’s wedding marked the start of the wedding season for me this year.
If this is any indication of what wedding season is going to be like, I’m bursting at the seams with excitement.
Susie and James said their vows at St. Andrew’s in Martinborough in front of their friends and families and later on the celebration continued at the gorgeous Tarureka Estate.
Their day was filled with personal details which made the wedding extra special.
Their wedding car, a 70’s Ford Fairlane, was James’s parents’ wedding car. It was purchased the day before his parents got married but was sold a few years later.
He tracked it down using the registration number from an old photograph and found it sitting in a garage in Christchurch without an engine.
He’s been restoring it since last year so they could use it as their wedding car as well. Isn’t that simply amazing?
The day started at the ever so lovely Tarureka Estate..
James was still tinkering with the car when Jay arrived at their house!
The gold diamond ring tied around Susie’s bouquet was her late grandma’s.
How cute are these Karen Walker gumboots?
For their portraits, we drove to this beautiful daffodil field, where Susie used to go with their Dad when she was still a little girl.
It was pouring with gorgeous golden light. A photographer’s dream!
James’s cowboy boots were his late Dad’s.
James and Susie, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your special day. It was perfect in every way and we feel so honoured that you chose us to capture your love and joy. Much love.
