Happy Birthday Ella!

A few weeks ago, I spent an afternoon with 5 beautiful young girls. Ella’s Mum booked me for a lifestyle session to mark Ella’s upcoming birthday.
It was such a perfect way to celebrate life and friendship.
Today, Ella turns 13 and I couldn’t think of a more perfect timing to show her these photos.

Ella, Joanna, Kristina, Shanaea and Bethany, thank you for braving the wind and the cold!

The day was fun-filled and nothing short of amazing, thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Beautiful images deserve to be showcased in the most beautiful albums.
I appreciate beautiful stationery; textured paper, letters, cards… So naturally I wanted to present my work in something beautiful too and I couldn’t have chosen a better album supplier than the folks over at Queensberry.
A few weeks ago I put together a series of layouts to showcase my work and to introduce these hand-crafted albums to my brides and grooms. Yesterday they arrived and I’m thrilled! These are built to last with the best materials and the craftsmanship is second to none. And of course, the images just come alive, touching them brings me back to the moment they were captured.
I can’t wait to make more of these!

Vienna Lifestyle Portrait Session: Nomar & Caroline

They say there’s nothing better than love based on friendship. It’s almost fail-proof.
Nomar and Caroline are the perfect example of that because they were the best of friends before they became a couple.

I shot this lifestyle session in Vienna just 2 weeks before we left for Wellington. It’s been crazy busy ever since, but good things are definitely worth waiting for, because these photos are just gorgeous. The light, the location, the colors were amazing, but what made this session extra special was definitely the couple.
Nomar & Caroline, you two are absolutely beautiful people and thank you for spending a perfect afternoon with me.

Philipp and Julia make such a great looking couple, they look like they stepped right out of a Calvin Klein or Banana Republic catalogue! I absolutely loved taking these photographs of them, although I felt slightly nervous because Philipp and Julia are both photographers themselves! They were just effortless and they made it easy for me to capture how fun of a couple they are.

Julie is one of my longest and best friends. She’s like a sister to me. While we were in London together a few years ago, a lady even asked us if we were twins. True story. I guess that’s what happens when you’re always with someone, you tend to look alike. Or so they say anyway.

I met Ulli when I was here in Vienna 4 years ago. I was still here when they got engaged but sadly, I had to leave before they got married on December 22nd, 2007…exactly a year before I got married.. see, we even share the same wedding date and we didn’t even plan it. Before I came here I promised Julie I’d do a lifestyle portrait session with them.. so without further ado here are the photos from the afternoon I spent with one of my favorite couples..

Julie and Ulli, thank you for standing in front of my camera and letting me capture your happiness. I had an AMAZING time with you two.. like always.. and I’m so over the moon happy that you’ve found each other. I love you both!

Wellington Maternity Session: Kurt & Angela + 1 {Part 2}

If you’re a Wellingtonian, you probably know just how unpredictable weather is here and how we could have all 4 seasons in one day. A few weeks ago however, we were blessed with one of the most beautiful summer days in Wellington. It was all sunshine and high temperature from morning until sun down, And it was.. the perfect day for this session.

To say that we had fun taking photos of Angela, Kurt and Angela’s bump is an understatement. It’s such an amazing feeling to watch Kurt and Angela together. The way they look at and play with each other will tell you how happy and excited they are.. and I am so very glad we were there to document this very special time in their lives. Angela carries her bump so beautifully and if you don’t know what ‘pregnancy glow’ means, just take a look at these photos because she is IT.

I have always wanted to use this swing. Jay can tell you how badly I wanted to use this swing because everytime we drive past it, I tell him.. “I want to photograph someone on that swing.” Well…my wish finally came true!! Don’t these photos just make you smile?
