Taupo is probably one of the most gorgeous towns in New Zealand to get married in – the great lake, the mountains as backdrops, autumn colours.
I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to document a wedding there. With such an incredible couple too.

Jonathan and Katy are such amazing people, they are the type you just really want to be around and keep as your friends.
Their wedding was just as amazing with so many sweet little surprises.
Jonathan gave Katy a gift with a letter that almost got me teary when she read it out loud. He also secretly wrote something on the sole of her shoe.
Katy hid a note in Jonathan’s jacket pocket which he only got to read moments before she walked down the aisle.
These two just really made my heart melt.
Thinking back, these two would have had a great wedding no matter where because they’re simply meant to be together.

Jonathan and Katy, thank you so much for everything, especially for your friendship. You two are the perfect example of why I love what I do.

There’s so many things I love about this wedding.
Firstly, I love how Ben recorded the song ‘I miss you’ by Incubus, which they played while Lucy was walking down the aisle.
I also love how fun it was to photograph their bridal party and how beautifully they decorated Ohariu Farm. But what I love the most is Ben and Lucy. Together.
They even have this thing where they press their foreheads together and look at each other like they’re the only people in the room.
And with that single gesture, everyone who looks at them can tell they belong with each other.

Ben and Lucy, thank you for allowing me to capture these memories for you. I had a great time documenting your wedding and I hope these photographs will always remind you of that special day.

This season, I was so lucky to have been given the opportunity to document so many beautiful weddings at Tarureka Estate.
Seriously, I get all giddy everytime I get an enquiry from a couple saying their wedding is going to be at that place.
Everything just seems to be perfection there, the light, the atmosphere, the laid-backness of it all.
Jeremy and Hayley’s wedding was the last one I covered there this season. And everything that day was simply beautiful.
Which isn’t really surprising given that Hayley is one crafty lady!
And I’m sure everyone was smiling when Fletcher, their dog, walked down the aisle with the rings tied around his neck.

James and Emily moved to Wellington from Christchurch in 2011.
It’s not easy starting a new life in a new city and being away from family but if you are with your most favourite person in the world,
it will always feel like you’re home. With family.

Emily told me when she was looking for a venue, she searched Google for vintage wedding venues and found Tarureka Estate.
She fell in love with the place the moment she saw it and just like that, the search was over!
I feel the same way about Tarureka, it is one of my absolute favourite venues and it’s not hard to see why.
Everything about it is just oozing with beauty.

I’m very grateful for doing something that I love and also for the people I get to meet and become friends with along the way.
Rebecca is one of those people. I first met her in March 2011 when we worked on our first wedding together.
Since then we’ve worked on numerous weddings together and became friends. I’m glad we did because aside from her gorgeous looks, she’s also one of the most likeable people you will ever meet.
Her beauty radiates from the inside and you can see that glow reflected in Harvey’s eyes. These two could not be more perfect for each other.

When Rebecca asked me to photograph her wedding, I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Every single detail at the wedding was well thought out, I don’t even know how Rebecca managed to DIY so much stuff in the middle of wedding season!
Her sister, Melissa, who came all the way from London to celebrate this day with them did all the flowers. I haven’t seen Brackenridge look that pretty!

Kyle and Lisa are such an adorable couple and so undoubtedly in love.
It was so easy having them in front of the camera because everything about them was just so natural and genuine.
Their entire day was full of joy, love and celebration. Just the right ingredients for a perfect wedding day.

Clément and Justine are a French couple who came to New Zealand for a project they’re working on.
In December 2011 during their trip to the South, Clément proposed to Justine and they both decided to get married here.

Every single wedding I’ve ever been part of has always been special to me but this wedding left a different kind of mark.
If there’s a word that could sum up this day, it would be love.
Love from friends and family who flew all the way from France, love from their colleagues around New Zealand and the feel of home from beginning til end.

Clément and Justine, thank you for letting us document this wonderful day and making us feel like family.

It’s wonderful when a couple lets us do our thing. In this case it was a pleasure just letting things happen and we clicked the moments and hours away.
While most couples get their first glimpse of each other during the ceremony, Mikey and Prany actually got their portraits taken before the main event. Most of their guests had travelled from around New Zealand and beyond to witness their union, and the couple wanted to spend more of their time with their friends and families.

Kelly is one of the owners of Vintage & Pretty, a Wellington based vintage deco hire company.
So you can only imagine my excitement when I received an email from her asking about my services.
When I met her a few months ago, she told me about how they’re going to have a 1920′s-themed wedding.
The delight in her eyes was so contagious and I loved hearing all about their wedding plans. I knew then that their day was going to be marvellous.
And when she told me they wanted me to be a part of their day, I was ecstatic!

I had a hard time starting this blog because words fail to describe how amazing this day was.
Every. single. detail was perfection. It really looked and felt like we were transported back to another era.
And although Nic and Kelly’s wedding was overflowing with so many beautiful things, the day was also brimming with joy from everyone celebrating their love.
It truly was a magical day.
