Wellington Wedding Photographer | Couple Portrait Session | Isaac & Larissa

‘Like a river flows surely to the sea, darling, so it goes. Some things are meant to be.’
– Elvis Presley

They say that everything happens for a reason.
I  think that fate has a way of bringing people into our lives.
Whether it be someone you choose to spend the rest of your life with or a friend you need at that point in your life.
For Isaac and Larissa, they strongly believe that fate brought them together 6 years ago.
They met at the perfect time, when both of them needed each other.
And since then they have been each other’s best friend and confidant.

Isaac and Larissa are some of the most gorgeous and genuine people I have had the pleasure of  knowing through our photography journey.
And though I have worked with Larissa a number of times before, she’s the amazing lady behind The Leo Style,  it was still so beautiful to see how the two of them interact with each other.
The way they laugh and hold each other is just proof that they were meant to be together.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Poppies, Martinborough Wedding | Jared & Lavinia

Jared and Liv are the kind of people who make you feel like you’ve been friends forever even though you had just met.
Liv is the kind of girl who can light up a whole town with her smile, and together they simply exude joy.
And to have played a part in their gorgeous day is something I’m really thankful for.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Boomrock Wedding | Mike & Amie

I cannot believe how fast this year is flying.
When our wedding season ended, I had big plans of blogging the many beautiful weddings we documented last Summer, but somehow even our Winter just seemed busy.
I always get asked what my favourite venue is, and while I can’t single pick just one, because there’s just way too many beautiful places in Wellington and New Zealand in general – Boomrock is definitely high up on that list.

Mike and Amie celebrated their wedding with their closest family and friends in probably one of the most beautiful Summer days we had this year.
We all know people are still talking about the Summer that didn’t happen, but this this day was definitely an exception.
It was a perfect day filled with sunshine, laughter and love. Lots of it.

Rarotonga Wedding Photographer | Edgewater Resort Wedding | Felix & Kristina

We have always tried our best to limit the weddings that we shoot in the Wellington/Wairarapa region during the Summer season because as parents of a school kid,
it’s just easier.
However, we did the most traveling we’ve ever done in a wedding season this Summer because who in their right mind would really say NO to beautiful destination weddings?
Our mantra has always been ‘we will make it work’, and we did, with the help from our amazing village of friends and family who always have our backs.

Felix and Kristina’s wedding day was nothing short of perfect.
Not just on the wedding day itself, the days leading up to the wedding, doing all sorts of activities with their friends and family who traveled to celebrate with them, were just incredible.
It was raining really hard the day before the wedding, but on the day, despite the threatening dark clouds in the horizon, there was not a single drop of rain.
It was our first time in Rarotonga, and we loved every minute of being there. The island reminded me so much of the Philippines and we will definitely be back again.

Felix and Kristina, thanks again for taking us to this paradise-like place. It was so beautiful to witness you celebrate with your loved ones!
We wish you both a lifetime of many more awesome adventures!
Much love, Candy & Jay

Hawke’s Bay Wedding Photographer | Elephant Hill Wedding | Emrys & Brittany

I have been looking forward to blogging about this wedding ever since I shot it in January.
And I’m just so stoked that I can finally do it now.

This was the first wedding I shot in the Hawke’s Bay, and now I can finally see why people love having their weddings there.
The scenery is spectacular and the weather (!).. it was glorious!

Brittany and Emrys looked like rockstars on their wedding day.
But these two did not only look good on the outside though, their souls were as equally beautiful.
They really are the perfect match for each other.
And I’m so grateful that they invited me to document their amazing day.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Lacewood Wedding | Morgan & Charlotte

January was probably our craziest month to date, on top of 6 weddings that we documented, we spent 10 days exploring the South Island for a commercial work that we were doing for Volkswagen NZ.
Morgan and Charlotte’s day was one of those beautiful weddings we got to photograph in January, and 5 months later, here I am finally showing you the photos from their amazing day.

If someone asked me how I would describe being in love, I’d simply show them photographs of Morgan and Charlotte, because that’s how they are, so head over heels in love with each other.
The way they look at each other, the way they smile at each other.. there’s just so much love and joy.
And their wedding day was filled with just that, love and joy. So much of it.
