Wellington Wedding Photographer – 2018 Highlights

I couldn’t let this year end without doing a post that highlights our beautiful couples and the love and happiness that we get to capture.
This year had been one of our busiest and most challenging but as always, we are eternally grateful for the trust and the opportunity to do something that not only brings joy to us but to people around us.

I hope the new year brings you love and happiness, and that you always get to be around the people that mean the most to you.
Again, our deepest gratitude and love.

Wellington Lifestyle Photographer – Eat My Lunch – Fundraiser Portrait Session

Last month, I hosted a weekend of portrait sessions at Twig and Arrow’s studio as a way of giving back to the community. My heart is so full looking at these images because these are the families who believed in our cause and donated so generously.
With their donations, we were able to buy 900 packed lunches from Eat My Lunch and give them to children in the country, who would otherwise go to school without. I am really blown away and beyond grateful.

And of course this wouldn’t have been successful without the support from these amazing people.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Boomrock Wedding | Mike & Lauren

It’s a little hard to believe that Mike and Lauren tied the knot 8 months ago now!
I remember how windy and overcast it was that day, and when we thought we weren’t going to get the golden sunset that we were hoping for, the clouds made way to the setting sun and we had the most orange skies.
It was glorious, and just the perfect way to end an already amazing day for two amazing people.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Brackenridge Wedding | Patrick & Isabelle

We did a crazy thing in January, where we photographed 4 weddings in a row, and 10 in total for the month of Jan.
I thought I would be exhausted and won’t have the energy and motivation to photograph the rest of our wedding season, but being around happy people really is contagious.

Patrick and Isabelle’s wedding was one of those weddings we photographed in January.
It was a little touch and go with the weather but when you’re surrounded by people who love you the most, and who are there to celebrate one of the happiest days of your life with you, who really cares if it rains a little right?

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Couple Portrait Session | Isaac & Larissa

‘Like a river flows surely to the sea, darling, so it goes. Some things are meant to be.’
– Elvis Presley

They say that everything happens for a reason.
I  think that fate has a way of bringing people into our lives.
Whether it be someone you choose to spend the rest of your life with or a friend you need at that point in your life.
For Isaac and Larissa, they strongly believe that fate brought them together 6 years ago.
They met at the perfect time, when both of them needed each other.
And since then they have been each other’s best friend and confidant.

Isaac and Larissa are some of the most gorgeous and genuine people I have had the pleasure of  knowing through our photography journey.
And though I have worked with Larissa a number of times before, she’s the amazing lady behind The Leo Style,  it was still so beautiful to see how the two of them interact with each other.
The way they laugh and hold each other is just proof that they were meant to be together.

Wellington Wedding Photographer | Boomrock Wedding | Mike & Amie

I cannot believe how fast this year is flying.
When our wedding season ended, I had big plans of blogging the many beautiful weddings we documented last Summer, but somehow even our Winter just seemed busy.
I always get asked what my favourite venue is, and while I can’t single pick just one, because there’s just way too many beautiful places in Wellington and New Zealand in general – Boomrock is definitely high up on that list.

Mike and Amie celebrated their wedding with their closest family and friends in probably one of the most beautiful Summer days we had this year.
We all know people are still talking about the Summer that didn’t happen, but this this day was definitely an exception.
It was a perfect day filled with sunshine, laughter and love. Lots of it.
