Wellington Wedding Photographer | Brackenridge Wedding | Patrick & Isabelle

We did a crazy thing in January, where we photographed 4 weddings in a row, and 10 in total for the month of Jan.
I thought I would be exhausted and won’t have the energy and motivation to photograph the rest of our wedding season, but being around happy people really is contagious.

Patrick and Isabelle’s wedding was one of those weddings we photographed in January.
It was a little touch and go with the weather but when you’re surrounded by people who love you the most, and who are there to celebrate one of the happiest days of your life with you, who really cares if it rains a little right?

Brackenridge Wedding: Sam & Sally

brackenridge-martinborough-wedding01I remember it being the hottest day when Sam and Sally tied the knot in Martinborough last Summer, but no one seemed fazed by it because everyone was having fun.
I remember coming home that night and seeing red marks on my shoulders, which clearly was a sign of being out in the sun the whole day but mostly a sign of documenting a beautiful day and celebrating the love of two wonderful people.

I love blogging weddings because it makes me remember so many beautiful memories that we were a part of.
Sam and Sally’s wedding day was nothing short of fun which ended with an epic first dance, and I look forward to many more fun days and epic first dances this coming Summer.

Maybe

Because tomorrow is Valentine’s day, I thought I’d post this reading I heard from a wedding a few weeks ago.
I am a big sucker for wedding readings and this one definitely stuck with me.

Maybe.
Maybe we are supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
Maybe it’s true that we don’t know what we have got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives.
Maybe the happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Maybe the best kind of love is the kind you can sit on a sofa together and never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.
Maybe you shouldn’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Maybe you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.
Maybe love is not about finding the perfect person, it’s about learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

And here’s a few more sneak peeks from weddings I’ve covered these past few weeks.
How spoilt am I?

Brackenridge Wedding: Harvey & Rebecca

I’m very grateful for doing something that I love and also for the people I get to meet and become friends with along the way.
Rebecca is one of those people. I first met her in March 2011 when we worked on our first wedding together.
Since then we’ve worked on numerous weddings together and became friends. I’m glad we did because aside from her gorgeous looks, she’s also one of the most likeable people you will ever meet.
Her beauty radiates from the inside and you can see that glow reflected in Harvey’s eyes. These two could not be more perfect for each other.

When Rebecca asked me to photograph her wedding, I couldn’t be more thrilled.
Every single detail at the wedding was well thought out, I don’t even know how Rebecca managed to DIY so much stuff in the middle of wedding season!
Her sister, Melissa, who came all the way from London to celebrate this day with them did all the flowers. I haven’t seen Brackenridge look that pretty!

Harvey and Rebecca, Jay and I absolutely enjoyed every minute of your wedding day, which absolutely reflected all the amazingness that you both are.
Thank you for letting us capture all these memories for you. Much love, Candy
