I’m really loving all the engagement and couples shoots I have been doing lately.
I love getting to know my amazing couples and hearing all about their wedding plans.

Because tomorrow is Valentine’s day, I thought I’d post this reading I heard from a wedding a few weeks ago.
I am a big sucker for wedding readings and this one definitely stuck with me.
Maybe.
Maybe we are supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
Maybe it’s true that we don’t know what we have got until we lose it, but it’s also true that we don’t know what we have been missing until it arrives.
Maybe the happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Maybe the best kind of love is the kind you can sit on a sofa together and never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you’ve ever had.
Maybe you shouldn’t go for looks, they can deceive. Don’t go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.
Maybe you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.
Maybe love is not about finding the perfect person, it’s about learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

How spoilt am I?
You know sometimes when you see a couple and even though you don’t know them you’re suddenly smiling and going awww in your head?
Jonny and Lauren are one of those couples.
They are also one of the sweetest and loveliest, not to mention gorgeous human beings in the planet, so you can probably imagine how excited I am to be photographing their wedding.
And it is happening tomorrow!
I almost want to dance in my little office because I can’t wait to document their day.
I just know it is going to be amazing.
But for now, here they are just being their wonderful selves.
Weddings are special because you’re celebrating two people who decided to spend the rest of their lives together.
But what makes it even more special to me are families.
It is so amazing how much love and joy can be felt in one day and that’s exactly why every time I start working on the photos from a wedding, there is a smile plastered on my face.
It’s like I’m reliving all those beautiful memories again. It’s definitely one of my favourite parts of my job.
Francois and Hayley got married last month in one of my favourite venues in the Wairarapa and their wedding day was nothing short of lovely.
Families and friends have traveled from around the globe to witness them say their I do’s and as always, I am so grateful I got to be a part of that day.
Francois and Hayley, thank you for letting us be a part of your day. You’re such amazing people and we wish you nothing but the best for your future.

John and Paloma met while working as journalists in Wellington but are now based in London, so it wasn’t til a few days before their wedding that I got to meet them and shoot their engagement session.
Typically on a summer afternoon, it rained on our first attempt, but the rain and wind disappeared just in time for attempt number two!
They got married last week in the most beautiful setting at a private farm in Otaki.
